"I was told I could cancel a claim but it's still on my driving record that there was a claim. This isn't making any sense. So now I'm driving around with a damaged vehicle with a hit on my driving record and no recourse. So now I'll have to pay for more for auto insurance through no fault of my own. Great job State Fam. Bottom line don't trust them to guide you."

The claims team advised that the claim could be withdrawn, but when a check is cashed, that is no longer an option. You did promptly return the money to the corporate offices, and that was applied to your bill amount.
